Lufthansa Systems proudly announces that Ethiopian Airlines, the largest airline in Africa and the fastest-growing brand in the world, relies on its finance solution, SIRAX/Revenue Accounting. This enables the pan-African carrier to have a 360-degree view of their financial processes. SIRAX/Revenue Accounting runs in the Global Aviation Cloud from Lufthansa Systems. Ethiopian Airlines, therefore, profits from a reliable solution with a high level of automation and data of the highest quality. Additionally, the African carrier opted for the financial management solution from Lufthansa Systems, SIRAX/ONE Order, which is fully capable of ONE Order integration. This way, Ethiopian Airlines is prepared to move to the ONE Order world when it comes. By combining the two solutions, Ethiopian Airlines speeds up its current accounting processes while preparing for the future.

SIRAX/Revenue Accounting is a future-proof revenue accounting solution that supports new distribution capability (NDC) and ONE Order, designed to help airlines grow their business. By automating financial processes such as checking ticket sales information against actual flight data, Ethiopian Airlines benefits from a reduced workload and higher data quality. Integrated sub-processes also support the billing of interline flights between airlines, as well as settlements with acquiring banks on sales using plastic cards. On this basis, the actual revenues are then calculated very precisely and within a very short timeframe. As the solution is completely integrated and centralized, it can pick up complex information and deliver current, detailed information for management and accounting staff in real time. This way, they can make informed decisions concerning the accounting strategy, considering potential risks.

Marco Cesa, Senior Vice President of Regional Management EMEA at Lufthansa Systems in his part said, “The aviation industry is undeniably progressing rapidly when it comes to revenue accounting, NDC, and ONE Order. If you don’t prepare for the future now, you risk being left behind and competitors outrunning you. Ethiopian Airlines knows that. Being the biggest airline in Africa, they are a lighthouse for the region. Them opting for our finance solutions shows their ambition to grow as well as their trust in us, accepting to be pioneers in the future of ONE Order, and we are more than happy to welcome them in our growing SIRAX community”.

Getinet Tadesse, Chief Information Officer at Ethiopian Airlines, said, “I am proud to announce our partnership with Lufthansa Systems for the implementation of SIRAX/Revenue Accounting. This strategic move not only streamlines our financial operations but also fortifies our commitment to innovation and excellence. By integrating SIRAX solutions, we are setting a new standard for efficiency in the aviation industry, ensuring Ethiopian Airlines remains at the forefront of technological advancement while providing unparalleled service to our customers.”

SIRAX/ONE Order is the world’s first and most advanced financial management solution, and it is fully capable of ONE Order integration. It streamlines finance processes in line with IATA ONE Order and Settlement with Orders (SwO). Lean, highly automated order processes and services based on the latest technology reduce implementation time and maintenance requirements. By enabling airlines to sell, account for, and track the delivery of new flight- and non-flight-products and services seamlessly, it brings airlines closer to other retailers and allows them to increase their agility and to be innovative by moving from PNRs, e-tickets, and EMDs, towards orders and services.

The modern and leading passenger revenue accounting standard solution SIRAX/Revenue Accounting allows airlines to either benefit from an all-in-one integrated solution or select specific modules and combine them to meet their business’s individual needs. With this flexibility, the products can be used by airlines of any size, traditional network carriers, and low-cost carriers alike.
