The Italian Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy (MIMIT) and aerospace company Radia recently announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding to collaborate on the development of WindRunner, the next-generation ultra-large cargo aircraft, and related industrial development opportunities in Italy. United today unveiled a new specialty “Stars and Stripes” livery that celebrates the nation’s 250th anniversary and announced a milestone to the airline’s United Military Pilot Program, an initiative that provides currently serving active-duty U.S. military pilots access to a conditional job offer with the airline much earlier than they were previously afforded.Since 2024, nearly 600 military pilots have transitioned to United through the program, with 500 more expected by the end of 2027. One hundred and twenty-four Aviation High School students participated on June 12 in a kick-off of the Reclaiming the Sky Resiliency Project designed to expand 9/11 education to New York’s high school students. The program gives students a chance to explore the courage and sacrifice of aviation workers on 9/11, including their paths to recovery, and apply the lessons to their lives.
