Guide Dogs for the Blind (GDB) and The Seeing Eye (TSE) of Morristown, N.J., two of North America’s leading guide dog schools, have joined forces to create a training video to help airline and airport employees better assist travelers who are visually impaired, with a special focus on how to address the social distancing guidelines during the Pandemic. The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is building on a strong record of cargo operations across the agency with a major new initiative to expand and improve its facilities at Newark Liberty International Airport. This is in response to a sharp rise in demand for additional cargo space and services. JFKIAT, the operator of Terminal 4 at John F. Kennedy International Airport, today announced that, along with a number of its partners, it has raised $230K to aid the Queens community as it continues to grapple with the economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. According to shipbroker Gibson, the current orderbook for Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) -fueled vessels stands at over 130 ships, including 40 containerships. More and more container ship companies are buying ships utilizing Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) to lower carbon footprint. While aviation is working hard to reduce its carbon footprint, the sister travel and freight mode, sea going vessels, are also working at reducing carbon emissions. Hempstead Town Supervisor Don X. Clavin Jr. announced that online retailer Amazon Inc. has agreed to lease a planned warehouse that will be built close to JFK International Airport in Woodmere on the Queens border. The project, which was granted economic development incentives by the Town of Hempstead IDA, will serve as an Amazon.com Services last-mile delivery facility. By helping the NGO Warriors of Wildlife (WOW), Qatar Airways Cargo kept its promise to fly lions to their natural habitat for free. It took six months of hard work involving no less than a dozen departments and over 50 employees to ensure a successful operation. On Thursday, April 29, the Kouga and Swinburne nature reserves in South Africa welcomed three lions, one lioness and three cubs. The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is extending the face mask requirement for individuals across all transportation networks throughout the United States, including at airports, onboard commercial aircraft, on over-the-road buses, and on commuter bus and rail systems through September 13.
