Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) has announced key appointments to its leadership team in North America to support its air cargo and ground handling growth ambitions in 2020 and beyond. Paul Walton joins the company as Senior Vice President Express, responsible for all aspects of WFS’ Express business. Delta is temporarily reducing the number of weekly flights it operates between the U.S. and Seoul-Incheon (ICN), South Korea, due to global health concerns related to coronavirus (COVID-19). From Feb. 29 through April 30, the carrier will suspend service between Minneapolis/St. Paul and ICN, with the last flight departing MSP for ICN on Feb. 28 and departing ICN for MSP on Feb. 29. Delta will also reduce to five times weekly its services between ICN and Atlanta, Detroit and Seattle through April 30. JFKIAT, the operator of Terminal 4 at John F. Kennedy International Airport, announced its partnership with the U.K. based Sunflower Lanyard Scheme to offer customers traveling through the terminal a discreet way to alert employees that they may require additional assistance, support or time. T4 is the first airport terminal in the Northeast to offer these symbolic lanyards for customers with hidden disabilities, providing vital assistance to the passengers that walk through its doors each year who need additional assistance while traveling. JFKIAT, the operator of Terminal 4 at John F. Kennedy International Airport,recently hosted a special Carnival event for customers traveling through the terminal. During the event, recording artist and composer Kareem Thompson delighted passengers with a steel drum performance in the Arrivals Hall. Customers flying with Caribbean Airlines were offered special gift bags which included travel mugs and rally towels. Delta Air Lines will pay out more than $1 billion in profit sharing, celebrating the outstanding accomplishments made possible by its employees around the world. Airbus has revealed MAVERIC (Model Aircraft for Validation and Experimentation of Robust Innovative Controls) its “blended wing body” scale model technological demonstrator. At 2 metres long and 3.2 metres wide, with a surface area of about 2.25m², MAVERIC features a disruptive aircraft design, that has the potential to reduce fuel consumption by up to 20% compared to current single-aisle aircraft. The “blended wing body” configuration also opens up new possibilities for propulsion systems type and integration, as well as a versatile cabin for a totally new on-board passenger experience. Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today announced that The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey reached agreement on key terms with Delta Air Lines and JFK International Air Terminal, the operator of Terminal 4, to dramatically expand Terminal 4 and consolidate Delta operations there, a key step in the transformation of John F. United Airlines today announced a new hourly shuttle service between Washington’s Reagan National Airport and New York/Newark Liberty International Airport. United will operate the world’s only two-cabin 50-seat regional aircraft – the Bombardier CRJ-550 on most flights. The CRJ-550 is designed for business and leisure travelers who want true-first-class seating, Wi-Fi, more leg room and enough space for every customer to bring a roller bag on board.
