United Announces Investment in Power-to-Liquid Fuels Company Twelve

United announced an investment in Twelve, an innovative low carbon fuels company that uses a process similar to photosynthesis to transform CO2 and water into sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) using renewable energy. This investment by the United Airlines Ventures Sustainable Flight Fund follows Twelve’s $83 million Series C funding round and project financing for its first SAF production facility, AirPlant™ One, located in Moses Lake, Washington. On May 1, LaGuardia Gateway Partners (LGP), the manager and developer of LaGuardia’s Terminal B, recently welcomed the newest airline to operate from Terminal B – Porter Airlines. The carrier’s first day of operations kicked off with a water cannon salute as the inaugural flight arrived from Toronto. Porter departing passengers were also treated to delicious treats and giveaways at Terminal B’s gate area, and arriving guests received a warm welcome from representatives from NYC Tourism. Porter Airlines will service three daily roundtrip flights between LaGuardia Airport Terminal B and Toronto Pearson International Airport.

Collaboration includes a path for United to purchase up to 200 airplanes

United today announced an investment in blended wing body (BWB) aircraft start-up JetZero. The company is creating an aircraft design that has the potential to deliver jet fuel efficiency and a greatly enhanced customer experience. The investment includes a path to order up to 100 airplanes, along with an option for an additional 100.
