Eight Dual-Port Chargers at Terminal 4 Will Power Delta Air Lines’ Electric Airport Ground Support Equipment

The Port Authority, the New York Power Authority (NYPA) and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) announced the installation of eight charging stations for electric ground support equipment at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK). The dual-port chargers can power up to 16 Delta Air Lines’ electric ground support vehicles at the same time, including baggage tugs, airplane tow tractors, and other airside equipment. From January 1, 2025, Lufthansa Cargo will include the rising costs of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) due to regulatory environmental requirements in the price index of its existing Airfreight Surcharge (ASC). For departures from European Union (EU) countries, a mandatory SAF blending rate of initially two percent will apply from 2025. Countries outside the EU are also planning to introduce or have already introduced mandatory SAF blends.
