The Defense Secretary, Llyod Austin, ordered activation of the Civil Reserve Air Fleet (CRAF) to evacuate U.S. Citizens and other at risk individuals from Afghanistan following the U.S. withdrawal of the country and the swift takeover of the Taliban. The CRAF is a voluntary military-civilian alliance that dates back to 1951 that allows the U.S. military to use commercial aircraft in emergency situations when it needs additional capacity. Bartlett Dairy, the minority-owned, family-run local business will develop a 54,000 square foot dairy distribution center on the north side of JFK Airport. The JFK Airport Rotary Club held their 12th Annual Charity Ladies Golf Outing at the beautiful Brookville Country Club. The organizations that benefited from the proceeds of the event were Life Camp, Inc. and Aviation High School Education Foundation. New York State and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey issued a news release that gives a green light to the plan to build a state-of-the-art new international terminal that will anchor the north side of John F. Kennedy International Airport. Subject to Board approval this week, the Port Authority will finalize and enter into a lease agreement with Vantage-led JFK Millennium Partners, the private consortium that will finance, develop, and operate the new $3.9 billion, 1.2 million square foot new terminal.
