Vaughn College held their Holiday New Year’s Reception on Thursday evening January 9th. JFKIAT, the operator of Terminal 4 at John F. Kennedy International Airport, participated in the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Blue Campaign, #WearBlueDay, to spread awareness for human trafficking with an event in the terminal. Ahead of National Human Trafficking Awareness Day on January 11, JFKIAT and DHS partnered to raise awareness on human trafficking and generate an online conversation about the crime. Aviation High School is certified by the United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for the training of Aircraft Maintenance Technicians (AMTs). Students who successfully complete the school’s technical programs are allowed to take their FAA certification examinations without further qualification. In order to achieve this, students at the school spend about three to four periods every day in “shop,” technology-related classes that concentrate on every aspect of an aircraft’s structure, systems, and components, as well as more general aviation subjects such as aerodynamics and Federal Aviation Regulations. The Port Authority of NYNJ has appointed James Gill General Manager of Newark Liberty International Airport. Gill is an aviation veteran with 20 years of senior leadership experience in the industry. JFKIAT, the operator of Terminal 4 at John F. Kennedy International Airport, is pleased to announce that it is the first airport terminal in the world to partner with Google to bring the Google Assistant’s interpreter mode real-time translation technology to customers traveling through T4. The Assistant’s interpreter mode, which can translate conversations across 29 languages in real-time, is now available on Google Nest Hubs placed at the Welcome Center in the Arrivals Hall as well as at the post-security information booth/help desk located in the retail lounge. On January 6th, Atlantic Joint Business partners American Airlines and British Airways joined New York Gov. JetBlue (Nasdaq: JBLU) today announced that it will offset carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) from jet fuel for all domestic JetBlue flights beginning in July 2020, making it the first major U.S. airline to take this critical and measurable step toward reducing its contribution to global warming. Mobility solution provider Bombardier Transportation announced today that it renewed a contract with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey to provide operations and maintenance services for the Authority’s automated transit system (AirTrain JFK) at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York.
