Cathay today announced the appointment of Cindy Lam as Senior Vice President, Americas. Starting September 1, 2025, Lam will lead Cathay’s strategic vision and business operations in the region, covering passenger travel, cargo and lifestyle. Francine joined the School Sisters of Notre Dame (SSND) Educational Center staff two years ago. Prior to her position, she served as a Board Certified Chaplain at Good Samaritan Nursing and Rehab in Sayville, NY. She owned a publishing company for over 20 years. Turkish Airlines has awarded a three-year cargo and ground handling contract to Worldwide Flight Services (WFS), a SATS company. The services began on July 17, 2025, at Miami International Airport (MIA) and will begin August 1, 2025, at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK). Under the agreement, WFS will provide comprehensive cargo handling, mail processing, and ramp handling services at MIA building 707, while JFK building 260 will handle cargo and ramp operations. Joby Aviation, Inc., a company developing electric air taxis for commercial passenger service, today announced it has entered into a definitive agreement with Blade Air Mobility, Inc. (NASDAQ:BLDE) to purchase Blade’s leading urban air mobility passenger business. Blade’s Medical division, which was not included in the transaction and will remain a separate public company, is to partner with Joby on medical transportation. The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey today joined with elected officials and community leaders from southeast Queens to break ground on a project that will expand a truck parking facility at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), tripling the number of trucks that can park on-airport, and adding new concessions and bathrooms. New York City Mayor Eric Adams and New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) President and CEO Andrew Kimball today kicked off “Housing Week” by unveiling a sweeping proposal to build approximately 3,000 homes and 60 acres of public space on the site of the former Flushing Airport in College Point, Queens.
