Emirates has launched the world’s first interactive amenity kit in Economy Class providing a more comfortable travel experience. The stylish new amenity kits utilize augmented reality (AR) technology to unlock immersive content on mobile devices. The kit bags come in six designs inspired by six regions in Emirates’ global network – Australasia, Latin America, Middle East, Africa, Europe and the Far East. The designs incorporate the colors and patterns of each of these regions and the Middle East design, in particular, features Arabic calligraphy by UAE-based artist, Tagelsir Hassan. British Airways customers can now meditate their way to a more relaxing flight, thanks to a new in-flight entertainment channel on the airline’s long-haul routes. The Headspace video channel is packed with content designed to help travellers unwind in the air, by practicing simple meditation and mindfulness exercises. Guided by Headspace co-founder, and former monk, Andy Puddicombe, each exercise focuses on a different topic, such as enabling stressed parents and anxious travellers to feel happier and more relaxed, overcoming jet lag or just helping them to get the most from every minute of their journey. Air Algerie, Cargo Air, LAS Cargo and unidentified customer join growing global customer base for Boeing conversion programs Boeing announced 10 new orders and commitments today at the 2016 Farnborough International Airshow for its Boeing Converted Freighters (BCF) program. Cargo Air, based in Sofia, Bulgaria, and Lineas Aereas Suramericanas (LAS) Cargo, based in Bogota, Colombia, will each receive two 737-800BCFs. Air Algerie, based in Algiers, Algeria, signed a commitment for two 737-800BCFs. Airbus and Rolls-Royce have created a new integrated parts availability service for the Cathay Pacific Airways A350 fleet, which encompasses both airframe and engine Line-Replaceable-Unit (LRU) components. The service integrates the Airbus Fleets Hours Service (FHS) and the Rolls-Royce TotalCare® Availability service through a seamless operational interface. Through this partnership between Airbus and Rolls-Royce, Cathay Pacific will be able to access both engine and aircraft parts through the same process to improve speed of response. 20-year Current Market Outlook reflects 4.1 percent increase in new airplane deliveries over 2015 forecast Boeing projects a demand for 39,620 new airplanes over the next 20 years, an increase of 4.1 percent over last year’s forecast.
