Urban Strategies strives to promote, empower, enhance, motivate and contribute to the general well-being of the youth and families in throughout New York City. It is the dream of our founders that the agency will continue to strengthen the community and the lives of those who enter its doors.
Urban Strategies is committed to addressing critical issues such as unemployment, homelessness, childcare, hunger, teen pregnancy, and education. Our community-centric approach encourages independent living, economic growth, and social empowerment.
Urban Strategies has owned and operated; over 500 units of low and moderate-income housing, ten storefronts, and 3 Department of Homeless Services shelters enhanced with case management and support services throughout New York City. Currently, the agency operates three (3) Early Learn Programs funded by Administration for Children’s Services (ACS), which include Head Start, Child Care, and Universal Pre-K; two (2) Universal Pre-K Programs funded by the Department of Education (DOE), two (2) After-School Programs funded by Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD), two (2) After-School Programs funded by Human Resource Administration (HRA), a GED program and a food pantry.
