    PANYNJ Names Edelana Van Marter as Deputy General Manager EWR

    Reporting to the Airport General Manager, Ms. Van Marter will be responsible for the management and strategic oversight of the airport.

    Edelana Van Marter, A.A.E., IAP, as Deputy General Manager for Newark Liberty International Airport

    The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey has named Edelana Van Marter, A.A.E., IAP, as Deputy General Manager for Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR). Reporting to the Airport General Manager, Ms. Van Marter will be responsible for the management and strategic oversight of the airport. She began her new position on April 1, 2023.

    Ms. Van Marter brings 17 years of increasingly responsible experience in aviation and airport management. Most recently, she was Commercial Development Manager for Neste US Inc., where she coordinated a sustainable aviation solution across a variety of company functions, including internal and external stakeholders. She has also worked for the Houston Airport System as Director of Transportation and, prior to that, as Operations Lead. She has held the position of Assistant General Manager at George Bush Intercontinental Airport and William P Hobby Airport.

    “I am excited to join the team of aviation professionals at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey,” said Ms. Van Marter. “I am looking forward to working with the great team that manages Newark Liberty International and Teterboro airports. I hope to contribute towards the mission of keeping the region moving with integrity, collaboration, speed, diversity, inclusion, and global best practices.”

    Ms. Van Marter graduated from the University of the Philippines with a bachelor’s degree in Economics. She went on to earn a master’s degree in Development Studies from the International Institute of Social Studies of Erasmus University and a master’s in Business Management from the Asian Institute of Management. She is an Accredited Member (A.A.E.) of the American Association of Airport Executives as well as a past member of the Board of Directors of the organization. She is also accredited as an International Airport Professional (IAP).
