Alaska Air Cargo expands its cargo lift capacity by 40 percent in the continental U.S. by utilizing the 71 Airbus aircraft that became part of the Alaska Airlines fleet as part of its merger with Virgin America. On June 16th, The ARK at JFK, the world’s largest privately-owned animal reception terminal and quarantine, released its single largest equine shipment of 22 horses from 3-day quarantine. The ARK at JFK Equine Quarantine. Originating from various regions throughout France (including Bordeaux, Côte d’Azur, and Normandy), all 22 horses arrived early Thursday morning, 6/14 to JFK for the equine quarantine at The ARK. The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is preparing for another record-breaking travel season this summer, as 243 million passengers and crew are projected to come through security checkpoints nationwide between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Last summer, TSA screened more than 239 million passengers and crew during the summer travel period, which included four of the top 10 busiest days in the agency’s history.
