JFKIAT, the operator of Terminal 4 at John F. Kennedy International Airport, recently launched a 60-day pilot for the use of a battery-driven ground power unit (eGPU) provided by ITW GSE, a leading manufacturer of ground support equipment for the aviation industry. ITW GSE, in partnership with Royal Schiphol Group, developed the 180kVA eGPU unit which is capable of supporting widebody and jumbo aircraft. Travelers who want to board an airplane will soon need a star on their driver’s license, indicating that it is a REAL ID-compliant credential or they will need another form of approved identification to board their flight or enter a secure federal facility. JetBlue announced it has enhanced its proposal to the Board of Directors of Spirit to acquire all of the outstanding common stock of Spirit for $33 cash per share.
