Passengers traveling through John F. Kennedy International Airport’s Terminal 4 this month will see a special art installation to celebrate Earth Month. Governor Kathy Hochul today announced that the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ) and the New York Power Authority (NYPA) began construction of New York State’s largest onsite solar plus storage project: a solar carport canopy at John F. Kennedy International Airport. Once operational, the solar carport project will generate electricity to help power the AirTrain and reduce electricity costs for residents of low-income neighborhoods in Queens.
