As part of its commitment to fostering opportunities for local and disadvantaged communities, JFK T8 Innovation Partners (T8 Partners) celebrated a partnership with social impact platform Project Destined and Jamaica, Queens-based York College that is offering work-based learning, mentorship, and career development opportunities to diverse local undergraduate students in the Queens community as part of the commercial redevelopment of John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) Terminal 8. Vidya Ramsammy graduated from New York Technical College and is currently attending York College and pursuing a degree in Business Administration. Ms. Ramsammy has been with CLPA since 2003 and, during that time, has developed the knowledge and experience to become one of the foremost experts in the aviation industry. Repsol, a multi-energy company committed to leading the energy transition, today announced that it has begun supplying sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) to Atlas Air for use in all its flights with its customer Inditex from Zaragoza Airport (Spain). Beginning in November, Atlas Air is initially incorporating 5% SAF in all its flights. The agreement makes New York-based Atlas Air the first cargo airline to use SAF regularly on its cargo flights in Spain, marking a new milestone in the airline sector. Allying to help address the issue of hunger and food insecurity in and around JFK International Airport, Island Harvest Food Bank and City Harvest announced a partnership with Valley Stream, NY-based International Shoppes, a premier duty-free and specialty retailer that operates airport retail and duty-free stores at JFK Terminals 1, 5, and 8. Travelers shopping at International Shoppes will be given the option to donate to help fight hunger upon checkout in amounts ranging from one to eight dollars.
