Governor Kathy Hochul today announced that the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) and NYC Department of Transportation (NYC DOT) has reached a major congestion pricing-funded milestone to improve air quality in the Bronx with the replacement of 20 diesel-powered transport refrigeration units (TRUs) at the Hunts Point Produce Market with clean diesel or hybrid models. This customer survey will be used to guide planning for the much-needed redesign of this critical transportation hub that serves 200,000 daily riders on the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR), AirTrain JFK and New York City subways and buses.
