The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and LaGuardia Gateway Partners, the developer and manager of LaGuardia Terminal B, announced today that LaGuardia Airport’s new Terminal B has retained both its Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) v4 Gold Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council and the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure’s Platinum Envision Award, affirming that commitments made during the initial design review were carried forward during the construction phase of the $4 billion redevelopment project. The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey announced today that a contractor has been selected to build and operate an on-airport construction support facility at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK). This was British Airways’ first passenger flight between the two cities since January 2020, when the route was suspended due to the pandemic. The resumption reclaims the airline’s exclusivity as the only British carrier operating a direct service between Beijing and the UK. Flights will operate four times a week between Beijing and London, departing Daxing Airport on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The Port Authority of New York/New Jersey (PANYNJ) has named Kevin O’Driscoll, C.M., as Deputy General Manager for LaGuardia Airport (LGA). In this position, he will be responsible for the management and strategic oversight of the airport, building strong partnerships with airport stakeholders and surrounding communities.
