Effective June 5, 2023, Sabine Trenk is the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Fraport USA, a wholly owned subsidiary of Fraport AG Frankfurt Airport Services Worldwide, and a leading developer of award-winning airport retail, food, and beverage concessions programs.

Ms. Trenk has spent 30 years in the industry, gaining extensive experience managing commercial and airport operations throughout the world. Most recently, she served as Chief Operating and Commercial Officer for Fraport Brasil, where she led the commercial department in implementing the concessions program for the airports of Fortaleza and Porto Alegre following the renovation and construction of new passenger terminals. Before joining Fraport Brasil, she was the Deputy General Manager of Operations at Xi’an Xianyang International Airport in China. For nine years, she was Chief Operating and Commercial Officer at Jorge Chavez International Airport in Lima, Peru, leading its transformation to an award-winning hub airport in South America. Here she was responsible for passenger operations and managing the retail, food, and beverage concessions program.

Sabine Trenk succeeds Michael Mullaney, who navigated the company through the Covid-19 pandemic and led the company for the last two years.

Michael Reusch, Fraport USA’s Chairman of the Board, said today: “The Board of Directors is pleased that Sabine has taken on this important leadership role, and we can draw on her vast experience and expertise to position Fraport USA for the future. Sabine is an empathetic and committed leader. We thank Mike Mullaney for his contributions during the last two years. Together with our business partners, we will grow the business further and pave the road for upcoming opportunities in the market.”

Sabine Trenk commented: “I am delighted to take over this new responsibility and lead the Fraport USA Group. I believe the U.S. market offers a huge potential to expand Fraport USA’s footprint and services further and thereby contribute to an appealing and world-class travel experience at U.S. airports. We will continue scanning the market for interesting opportunities and develop new ideas and concepts for the aviation sector with our highly experienced team.”

Ms. Trenk has held various executive roles at Frankfurt Airport, Germany, and airports in Greece, India, China, and Peru in operations and commercial departments. During her term in Xi’an and Lima, the airports were awarded the World Travel and Skytrax Awards several times as world-class airports and for their outstanding commercial programs and staff services.

Fraport USA develops and manages award-winning retail concessions programs at major airports throughout the United States, including Baltimore/Washington, Nashville, Cleveland, New York-JFK Terminal 5, and Newark Terminal B.
