As John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) undergoes a $20 billion redevelopment, regional leaders celebrate new entryway signs designed to unify and elevate neighboring businesses.
The GatewayJFK Business Improvement District (BID) will host a Sign Unveiling Ceremony on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at 10:00 am at 154-05 Rockaway Boulevard, at the corner of North Conduit Avenue and Rockaway Boulevard.
The event will celebrate the unveiling of 11 Gateway Monument Signs and 16 district banners, marking the first district-wide beautification and branding initiative in the commercial corridor around JFK Airport.

“As nearly $20 billion is being invested inside JFK Airport, GatewayJFK is committed to ensuring the community surrounding the airport grows alongside it,” said James Johnson, Executive Director of GatewayJFK. “These Gateway Monument Signs represent more than beautification; they represent investment, pride, and a commitment to creating a welcoming gateway for the businesses, property owners, residents, and millions of visitors who travel through this corridor every year.”
The Gateway Monument Signs and district banners establish a unified identity for the business district while enhancing one of the primary gateways into Southeast Queens. The project reflects GatewayJFK’s ongoing commitment to beautification, economic development, and supporting the businesses that serve as the front door to New York City through JFK Airport.
