JetBlue is continuing its longstanding tradition of service by donating 2 million TrueBlue points to Make-A-Wish in celebration of Giving Tuesday and JetBlue For Good month. As a national airline partner since 2012, JetBlue is proud to continue facilitating more wishes granted for children battling critical illnesses across the country and invites customers to join in the good through its TrueBlue points donation platform.

“I am inspired by the unwavering commitment and passion from our crewmembers and customers who consistently enable us to give back to the local communities that we serve through our charity partners,” said Icema Gibbs, vice president of CSR and DEI, JetBlue. “Our longstanding partnership with Make-A-Wish is a great example of how we foster JetBlue’s value of caring across our culture as we help create special moments of joy for children and families across our network.”

Since September 2022, Make-A-Wish has redeemed 18.9 million TrueBlue points as part of its partnership with JetBlue and the airline’s points donation platform. As more than 70 percent of all wishes involve air travel, JetBlue is able to play a significant role in granting wishes with these points donations across all 58 Make-A-Wish chapters. JetBlue is proud to support a variety of charitable organizations year-round through points donations, where all points donated go directly to the selected charity, and each charity may use the points for travel for their organization. TrueBlue loyalty members can donate points directly on the platform to charities and causes like Make-A-Wish and many others.

“Make-A-Wish needs almost 3 billion airline miles and points to fulfill travel wishes for children battling critical illnesses each year, making them a critical resource to grant the wish of every eligible child waiting,” said Leslie Motter, president and CEO of Make-A-Wish America. “Make-A-Wish is exceptionally grateful for our partnership with JetBlue. This donation reflects our shared belief that a wish gives children a piece of their childhood back.”

Sharing our Good: A sample of JetBlue For Good Initiatives

In addition to donating points, JetBlue’s crewmembers have donated their time through volunteer projects across the airline’s network, including fundraising initiatives, youth and education-focused events, and care efforts for local communities such as:

  • Swing for Good – JetBlue’s 13th annual Swing for Good fundraising initiative reached new heights through its golf classic and Bid for Good online auction. JetBlue’s Swing for Good initiative has raised over $9 million for JetBlue’s roster of charitable partners with this year’s $1 million contribution directly benefiting the JetBlue Foundation, honoring the Foundation’s 10-year anniversary.
  • Summer ACE Academies – Throughout the summer, the JetBlue Foundation partnered with the Organization of Black Aerospace Professionals (OBAP) and their Aerospace Career Education (ACE) program to host ACE Academies in New York, Fort Lauderdale, and Orlando. ACE Academies play a vital role in cultivating the next generation of diverse aerospace leaders, reinforcing the airline’s mission to inspire humanity. JetBlue crewmembers from across the organization worked with OBAP to share special experiences and conduct workshops about careers in aviation for more than 150 students.
  • ‘Sweet Cases’ for Foster Love– JetBlue teamed up with long-standing partner, Foster Love, to provide foster children with hand-decorated duffel bags and care items, also known as ‘Sweet Cases.’ In more than 30 cities across the airline’s network, crewmembers volunteered their time to package duffle bags. Over the last decade, JetBlue has proudly supported over 10,000 youth through its partnership with Foster Love, formerly known as Together We Rise.

While JetBlue For Good month is celebrated in November, the airline is proud to support volunteerism across its network year-round. For more information on JetBlue’s Corporate Social Responsibility platform, visit jetblue.com/jetblue-for-good.
