The group worked very hard on planning and fundraising for three amazing service projects all delivered in one day. The first was a drop-off of items that the new mothers residing at the Saratoga Family Shelter were in desperate need of. Thank you to all who donated these items, they were very well received by the shelter and were immediately distributed to the new moms.

The next project was a party for the 4th-grade class at PS 124 right outside of JFK Airport. The JFK Rotary Club brought in backpacks filled with goodies for the kids including books from the Brooke Jackman Foundation, teddy bears from the Mets, and school supplies and snacks from the JFK Rotary. The backpacks were very much appreciated, but the kids loved the program! They had K9 demonstrations from the Department of Homeland Security and Customs & Border Protection, they had the new Rotaract Club students deliver a dance party and they had Mr. Met there dancing along with the kids! The kids had the best time and were incredibly appreciative to have been selected to have this wonderful program brought to them.
The last stop of the day was to St. Josephs Church in Jamaica. It is Father Chris from the T4 Lady of the Skies Chapel home parish. The JFK Rotary collected and shopped for toiletries and other items needed for the residents and parishioners there. The donation also included loads of sneakers and socks from very generous donors from the airport community.
