On March 27th, Unity Electric, an EQUANS company, celebrated the grand opening of their new office at 154-09 146th Avenue, Jamaica, NY.

Since 1974, Unity Electric has provided world-class electrical solutions for commercial clients in the New York metropolitan region and beyond. Unity’s approach to electrical construction and electrical system installation integrates expertise at every step across the full value chain.

Unity Electric became the trusted electrical provider for John F. Kennedy International Airport’s Terminal 4 when it completed the initial installation of all telecom wiring and networking during its construction between 1999 and 2001. Since then, Unity has been called upon to perform all the terminal’s electrical work, including wiring number upgrades and expansions, and providing ongoing maintenance for all of the terminal’s electrical systems.

Unity’s electrical work covers the entirety of the JFK Terminal 4 building. Thanks to a newly installed cabling network, flight information displays across the terminal display up-to-the-minute information, including support, baggage, and passenger information.

Along with electrical components for the terminal’s baggage systems, Unity has provided additional fit-outs for new construction, including recent expansions of Concourse B. Unity also provided new innovative technology when Delta Airlines initiated a terminal expansion for domestic arrivals. Unity introduced a new type of fiber-optic system for this project, which is blown into ceilings. Unity also upgraded GPU & PCA units for several Jet Bridges to meet the ever-changing demands for new aircraft.

The well-attended event at Unity’s newest office included remarks by Vincenzo Pace, Director, Business Development at Unity Electric and head of Unity’s airport group, and Unity’s CEO, David Morvant.

Pace thanked all those present and said, “I know many of you through the JFK Community, and it’s a great introduction today for Unity’s esteemed team and our CEO to really show that we are a family here at JFK and that we are not only business colleagues, we’re also one big family. And the fact that we are growing our involvement in the community here and opening this office is very important.”‘

After introducing Unity’s Field Team, Pace introduced CEO David Morvant, speaking of Morvant’s immense support at the airport, not only to develop resources for work at JFK but for his support of the community on a more significant basis through the JFK Chamber, the Rotary and other organizations.

During his closing remarks, CEO David Morvant said, “It’s a pleasure to work with you at this new office at JFK. It is a very promising market. At EQUANS, we do a lot of things at airports all over the world and its a market in which we believe in a lot.” After introducing each of the team at Unity, Morvant continued, “Our team is a big family and the team is here to serve our clients and to be efficient.”
