Vaughn College has announced a new program—the “Vaughn Guarantee.” Designed for incoming fall 2018 students, the Guarantee provides students and their families with a pledge that the investment that they make in higher education has enduring value. The Guarantee is the first of its kind in New York state.
A Vaughn College education is designed to prepare students for employment in the in-demand fields of engineering, technology, management, and aviation. If a full-time, eligible student is not employed full-time in their field of study one year after graduating and is conducting an active job search, Vaughn College will provide reimbursement for one year of the graduate’s federal Direct undergraduate student loan payments or allow those who meet the criteria to enroll in Vaughn’s master’s program without incurring charges for one year.
“We believe so strongly in Vaughn’s ability to make a difference for those students who attend full-time that we decided to give students and families an assurance that we are worth the investment,” said President Dr. Sharon B. DeVivo in making the announcement. “The outcomes we produce for students are evidence that we are living out our mission as an institution and can make this offer knowing that we change lives.”
The evidence of Vaughn’s success includes a long-standing reputation for high career placement rates. Ninety-seven percent of Vaughn graduates are employed or continuing their education within one year, and 82% are in their field of study. In addition, last year, Vaughn was named number one in the nation for moving students from the bottom 40 percent to the top 40 percent in income in a study published by The New York Times. The institution was also named one of Money Magazine’s “Top Colleges for Your Money.”
The Guarantee is available for full-time students who enroll in any of the 14 academic bachelor’s degree programs and for Aviation Training Institute students obtaining their associate in occupational studies and airframe and powerplant certificates. Eligible student requirements are available on Vaughn’s website.
