JFK Airport Rotary Club held its annual Run the Runway 5K on April 30, 2023. General Needs, LTD., a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization that helps veterans, is the beneficiary of this year’s 5k.
General Needs helps thousands of homeless veterans and their families in and around Long Island, providing essential items such as socks, underwear, and t-shirts; they focus on providing the basic necessities that are missing in the everyday lives of our homeless veterans.
This year’s event was a huge success, with over 2,000 registered runners and more than 1,500 finishing the race. Fortunately, the weather cooperated; the rain held out until just after the closing ceremony.
