Alaska Air Cargo today began a new chapter in its business, introducing the first converted Boeing 737-700 cargo aircraft. The aircraft is the first of its kind in the world and was converted from an all-passenger to an all-freight aircraft. The Transportation Security Administration and Delta Air Lines jointly launched new automated security screening lanes in Terminal C at LaGuardia Airport (LGA) today, introducing state-of-the-art checkpoint technology to one of the busiest airports in the country. The automated screening lanes incorporate technology that enhances security effectiveness while decreasing the time customers spend in security screening. JetBlue today revealed a refreshed and updated special livery dedicated to the New York Jets. In 2009, JetBlue was named the Official Airline of the New York Jets. British Airways is set to mark a milestone aircraft delivery on Friday (September 29), as it welcomes the 25th Dreamliner into its fleet. The Boeing 787-8 aircraft will be making its maiden voyage to the airline’s Heathrow home with the flight number BA8625. It will depart Boeing’s Seattle factory on Thursday September 28 at 6.05pm local time and will land at Heathrow at 11.15am local time the following day. Acting Chief Security Officer John Bilich The Port Authority announced today that Acting Chief Security Officer John Bilich – a former NYPD Deputy Commissioner of Operations and chief investigator in the Manhattan and Brooklyn District Attorney’s Offices – has been named the agency’s permanent Chief Security Officer. Mr. Bilich, who was named Acting Chief Security Officer in December 2016, joined the Port Authority in March 2015 as First Deputy Chief Security Officer after serving as the chief investigator at the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office.
