At the March 2022 Board of Commissioners meeting, Sherien Khella was elected as Treasurer, following the retirement of Cheryl Yetka. In her new capacity as Treasurer, Sherien will oversee the Agency’s essential financial functions, including cash and liquidity management, insurance risk management, investment management, and debt management.
Sherien joined the Port Authority in 2007 as a Senior Economic Analyst in Planning, before moving to Management & Budget, where she served as both a Supervising Financial Analyst/ Economist and a Supervising Budget Analyst. In 2014, she was named Advisor to the Chief Financial Officer and then was appointed Deputy Director of the Office of Financial Planning in 2016. She comes to the role of Treasurer after serving as Deputy Aviation Commercial Officer for the past three years.
To the office of Treasurer, Sherien brings leadership and financial expertise, including an impressive track record of heading commercial negotiations, driving revenue growth, and leading cross-departmental teams to success. We congratulate Sherien and wish her the best in her new role in shaping the Port Authority’s financial future.
