Atlas Air Takes Delivery of New Boeing 777 Freighter

Atlas Air, Inc., announced it has taken delivery of a Boeing 777-200 Freighter, which it will operate on behalf of its customer MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company. Under the previously announced long-term ACMI (aircraft, crew, maintenance, insurance) agreement, Atlas Air is operating four 777 aircraft on a global basis for MSC, enabling MSC to expand its reach and capacity for its customers. Number of guns detected at TSA checkpoints in New York City region’s airports increased in 2023

Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officers stopped 51 handguns at New York City area airport checkpoints in 2023, a notable increase from the 39 guns caught in 2022. Each of the firearms was discovered by TSA officers during the routine screening of carry-on property at airport security checkpoints. Nationwide, TSA officers detected 6,737 firearms at airport security checkpoints in 2023. It was a significant increase from the 6,542 detected in 2022.
