Condor Airlines, Germany’s most popular leisure airline, announces the appointment of Mikko Turtiainen to the position of director of sales, The Americas. Effective immediately, Turtiainen is responsible for leading sales, strategy, and growth in North America. He is also in charge of continuing to build Condor’s brand awareness and sales from consumer and B2B channels in the U.S. and Canada.

Turtiainen joins Condor from Finnair, where he spent more than two decades, most recently as vice president of global sales, and where he also served on Finnair’s commercial leadership team. Before this, he held various positions in several departments at Finnair, including sales, revenue management, and cargo. He also spent four years in New York, heading Finnair, North America.
“We are thrilled to welcome Mikko to our leadership team as we expand our footprint in North America and introduce our brand-new, long-haul A330neo—the most sustainable aircraft up in the skies,” said Christian Lesjak, director of sales, Condor. “Mikko joins Condor with an impressive airline industry background and a solid record of leading teams to success. In addition, he has profound knowledge of how to market European destinations to all customer segments in the American market. We are fortunate to have Mikko join us at this most exciting time in our company’s history.”
