The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) announced today that it will refer all passengers who do not present an acceptable form of ID and still want to fly an option to pay a $45 fee to use a modernized alternative identity verification system, TSA Confirm.ID, to establish identity at security checkpoints beginning on February 1, 2026. Travelers will be able to pay $45 to use TSA Confirm.ID for a 10-day travel period. The lives of several families in need across Far Rockaway and Southeast Queens were transformed just in time for Thanksgiving. Families received complete home furniture sets, including high-quality living rooms, dining rooms, and bedroom furnishings, free of charge. Each year, just before Thanksgiving, Crescent Consulting and its partners organize a food drive to provide prepared meals for local community members in need. Calling upon a network of local restaurants to prepare individual meals, the event is able to feed several hundred people each year. The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey today announced that Rick Cotton, who has served as the executive director of the Port Authority since August 2017, will retire from the agency in January 2026. A successor is expected to be announced in due course and will work closely with Cotton to ensure a smooth transition. JetBlue has announced the expansion of its industry-leading Gateway programs with the launch of Gateway University – Tech Ops, a new pathway that provides a direct route for aviation maintenance students to join JetBlue as Aircraft Maintenance Technicians (AMTs).
