The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) team at LaGuardia Airport was awarded the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Award for Pandemic Heroism. The honor, which was announced today by DHS, was awarded to the TSA security professionals of “Team LaGuardia” for its display of uncommon bravery and dedication during the pandemic. Despite its proximity to the nation’s pandemic epicenter, TSA personnel continued to report to the airport daily, overcoming obstacles such as the subways closing due to the pandemic and rioting and civil disorder, which broke out in May. Aer Lingus welcomes the revisions by Ireland’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, which will reduce restrictions for passengers traveling from North America to Ireland. Effective from November 29th, arrivals from U.S. and Canada will not be expected to continue to restrict movements following receipt of a negative/not-detected result from a COVID-19 PCR test taken a minimum of five days after arrival in Ireland. Aer Lingus also welcomes the exemption for passengers with an essential function from the requirement to undergo restricted movement or testing while exercising this essential function. Delta is partnering with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to keep international customers informed of potential COVID-19 exposure through contact tracing. Along with our nine global airline partners, we are working with government agencies, health officials and aviation authorities to offer safer travel at every point in your journey. While Thanksgiving travel has certainly been lighter than usual, U.S. air travel hit its highest level since mid-March 2019 over the holiday and millions of Americans still traveled by car. More people passed through U.S. airport security checkpoints the Sunday after Thanksgiving than on any other single day since the coronavirus pandemic paralyzed air travel, according to the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey announced that John F. Kennedy International, Newark Liberty International, LaGuardia, New York Stewart and Teterboro Airports have received the Airport Health Accreditation from Airports Council International (ACI) World and ACI Americas.
