Teresa Ferraro, President/CEO/Co-Owner of East/West Industries, Inc. announces the retirement of one of its former co-owners, Joseph Spinosa, VP of Business Development, effective May 12, 2023. Joe has contributed to the growth and achievements of East/West during his tenure and has been instrumental in developing successful, long-lasting customer relationships. These relationships were cultivated into highly desirable defense and commercial programs benefiting East/West, its customers, and the aviation community. Joe has also dedicated much of his tenure as an advocate for Long Island’s future in the A&D industry, volunteering his leadership and experience to various business and community-based organizations.

The East/West executive management team has worked very closely and collaboratively with Joe over the last few years to ensure a seamless transition. William (Bill) Koshansky, Business Development Manager, joined East/West over three years ago and has been a welcomed addition in providing complementary skills and leadership to our Business Development team. With over 20 years of business development experience within the Defense Aerospace sector, his expertise includes operator-worn equipment, escape systems, oxygen systems, crash-worthy seat systems, survival kits, and ground support equipment. Michael (Mike) Vetter, Sr. Director of Product Development, with over 18 years of service at East/West, will coordinate all Business Development activities at East/West while continuing to lead the entire East/West Engineering team. Mike has worked side by side with Joe to ensure a smooth transition and assure continuity for our customers; he has been instrumental in the design and development of many products to meet our customers’ needs. In addition to these responsibilities, Mike has transitioned into an executive leadership role within East/West.

Teresa Ferraro says, “I along with the entire team at East/West, fully support Joe’s retirement and moving into his next chapter of life. As East/West enters its 55th year of business, I am excited to carry on the legacy of East/West as our parents, Dom and Mary Spinosa (founders of East/West) hoped. With my 39 years of tenure with East/West, I look forward to continuing to grow the business. My greatest pride will come from continuing to ensure that “Saving Aircrew Lives is our First Concern”.”
