JFK International Air Terminal (JFKIAT) recognized Operation Supervisors Sabrina Noomen and Lucy Ramirez for going above and beyond to protect the airport community. While Sabrina and Lucy were conducting their routine walkthrough, they noticed smoke from debris stuck in a ceiling light in one of the terminal’s elevators. Because of their attention to detail and proactive attitude, these diligent employees prevented a possible building fire.


Dante Zambrano, duty manager, was recognized for his initiative to start a test pilot at Make-up Unit 14 to develop a safer drive-through connection. As a key Terminal 4 Safety Committee member, Dante is the ramp sub-committee lead and collaborates with frontline workers to address hazards and safety concerns. His pilot has received great feedback from our ground handlers and airlines. Dante’s efforts exemplify JFKIAT’s commitment to building a zero-accident culture.

Employees who offer compassion to travelers in a challenging situations make all the difference. JFKIAT recently recognized Poolmattie Ramkishun, Operation Supervisor, for helping a passenger retrieve valuable art pieces after leaving them behind in a taxi. As soon as the passenger sought assistance, Poolmattie reassured them that she would help them. Poolmattie gathered information to reach out to the taxi dispatch, the Port Authority, and our Security team. Not only did Poolmattie help the guest retrieve their valuable items in an hour, but she even waited with the guest so they would not miss their flight.

JFKIAT recently held a pizza party for Smarte Carte to celebrate their outstanding service over the last several months. From Q1 to Q2, they received the most service excellence nominations from passengers and employees.
