LaGuardia Gateway Partners (LGP), the private manager and developer of LaGuardia Terminal B, is proud to announce the launch of the B-INSPIRED STEM Grant program in collaboration with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. This initiative will award a $15,000 annual grant to a local organization providing STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) programming to Queens residents.
The B-INSPIRED STEM Grant program aims to foster innovation and education in the Queens community, supporting organizations making a difference in STEM education. This program is in addition to the annual LaGuardia Redevelopment Summer STEM program in partnership with Queens Public Library, further demonstrating LGP’s and the Port Authority’s commitment to STEM education in the borough.
“We’re excited to expand our support for STEM education in Queens as a part of our ongoing commitment to inspiring innovation and supporting our surrounding community,” said Suzette Noble, CEO of LaGuardia Gateway Partners. “The B-INSPIRED STEM Grant program will help local organizations continue their vital work in inspiring the next generation of scientists, technologists, engineers, and mathematicians. By investing in STEM education in Queens, we’re ensuring that the transformative spirit of the new LaGuardia Terminal B continues to benefit the local community.”
“Providing STEM programs for students in the communities around LaGuardia has been a priority for the Port Authority and its private partners at the airport since the $8 billion redevelopment project began,” said Port Authority Deputy Chief of Intergovernmental and Community Affairs Hersh Parekh. “Since 2019, more than 300 local students have participated in an Aviation STEM program supported by the Port Authority, LaGuardia Gateway Partners, and Delta Air Lines, in partnership with the Queens Public Library and Cradle of Aviation Museum. We thank LGP for funding the B-INSPIRED STEM Grant that will open the door to careers in aviation for even more students in Queens.”
