
Ralph Tragale was named the 2020 winner of the Bill Shea Award, presented by the New York Aviation Management Association (NYAMA) on Wednesday at its annual fall conference to an individual who has “demonstrated exemplary leadership and effected positive change in the aviation industry in New York. State.
”The award is named for NYAMA founder, aerospace educator/lecturer, and former FAA Associate Administrator for Airports William F. Shea. It is presented annually to professionals who have gone “beyond the call of duty and given of their time, energy and resources to significantly impact the aviation industry in New York State for the better.”
Past recipients of the award include former Director of Aviation William R. DeCota and Deputy Aviation Director/JFK GM Charles R. Everett, Jr. Ralph is retiring from the Port Authority this month after more than 32 years of public service.
