Introducing Julia Lauria-Blum, the new Editor-In-Chief for the Metropolitan Airport News. Julia has earned her degree in Visual Arts from SUNY New Paltz. She has always had an interest in the women aviation pioneers that paved the way for so many.
Her interest led her to research the Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP) from the WWII era. In 2001 she curated the permanent WASP exhibit at the American Airpower Museum at Republic Airport in Farmingdale, NY. Also, at the American Airpower Museum, Julia curated the “Women Who Brought the War Home, Women War Correspondents, WWII’.
Julia is the former curatorial assistant at the Cradle of Aviation Museum in Garden City, NY where she worked on many of the exhibits as well as the historical archives.
Her love of aviation, local history, and talent for storytelling will certainly bring the readers a rich and enlightening experience that will entertain and educate.
