The 3rd Annual Metropolitan Airport News Holiday Party was a hit! The Inn at New Hyde Park was the venue for the annual event that so many companies look forward to attending each year. A New York City man who served as an aircraft technician with the famed all-black Tuskegee Airmen has died at 100 years of age. He was one of the first black aviators in the military who served with the Tuskegee Airmen during World War II. Dr. Michael Kerkloh, who has served as the President and CEO of Munich Airport (FMG) for over 17 years, will retire at the end of 2019. JetBlue today announced the appointment of Edward Baklor as the carrier’s new Vice President, Inflight Experience. He will join JetBlue effective January 2019 and lead the carrier’s 5,000 award-winning inflight crewmembers. Baklor comes to JetBlue from LaGuardia Gateway Partners where he served as Chief Commercial Officer responsible for leading the team that is transforming the commercial and guest experiences at LaGuardia Airport’s Terminal B. On November 29th Skanska USA celebrated the opening of the first new gates at LaGuardia Airport’s Terminal B Eastern Concourse as part of an $8 billion transformation of LaGuardia into a unified, 21st-century airport. The new, 250,000 square-foot light-filled Eastern Concourse in Terminal B opened to the public on December 1, marking the largest milestone to date in the airport’s historic transformation. Air Canada today unveiled its newest Maple Leaf Lounge at LaGuardia Airport in New York City. The new lounge, conveniently located after security near Air Canada’s gates, is the first airline lounge to open in the new Terminal B Eastern Concourse. Ms. Coffey will lead an integrated communications function to advance Atlas Air Worldwide’s brand reputation among its key stakeholders. Today, American Airlines joined New York Governor Andrew M. Cuomo; Rick Cotton, Executive Director of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey; representatives from LaGuardia Gateway Partners (LGP) and LaGuardia Airport (LGA) team members to celebrate the unveiling of a new concourse at LGA’s Terminal B.
