Newark Liberty International Airport and LaGuardia Airport each made it into the Transportation Security Administration’s list of Top 10 List of most unusual items found at checkpoints in 2019. Vaughn College held their Holiday New Year’s Reception on Thursday evening January 9th. Kennedy International Airport, participated in the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Blue Campaign, #WearBlueDay, to spread awareness for human trafficking with an event in the terminal. Aviation High School is certified by the United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for the training of Aircraft Maintenance Technicians (AMTs). Students who successfully complete the school’s technical programs are allowed to take their FAA certification examinations without further qualification. In order to achieve this, students at the school spend about three to four periods every day in “shop,” technology-related classes that concentrate on every aspect of an aircraft’s structure, systems, and components, as well as more general aviation subjects such as aerodynamics and Federal Aviation Regulations. The Port Authority of NYNJ has appointed James Gill General Manager of Newark Liberty International Airport. Gill is an aviation veteran with 20 years of senior leadership experience in the industry.
