After graduating from Bard College with a major in languages, Roberta spent a year in Germany and France before joining Trans World Airlines in the early 70’s. At TWA she became the Ambassador and Constellation Club supervisor at JFK. An interest in food fostered by her international travel lead to “Deliciously Dunn”, her catering and gift basket business for 20 years, while still working at TWA. After the demise of the airline, Roberta became the North American sales rep for La Source, a 5 star resort in Grenada. When hurricane Ivan destroyed the island, she went on to work for Airport Press. Most recently Ms. Dunn is the Skating Director at the City of Long Beach, NY skating rink. Roberta is a US Figure Skating Gold Medalist in ice dancing and has skated since she was 17. Another of her passions is photography and her photos have been used in several publications. Roberta still travels extensively, enjoys cooking and entertaining and skates practically every day.

On Feb. 20, 2019, the School Sisters of Notre Dame held their annual Mardi Gras celebration at Roma View, this year being special because it marks the fifteenth anniversary of the Sisters Educational Center when it welcomed its first class of eighteen women. The Center has grown and has changed the lives of almost 2000 women since its inception. Sister Cathy spoke of the Centers’ mission which has enabled women with limited opportunities to earn a high school diploma and for many to learn to speak English. Our Lady of the Skies annual luncheon on October 25, 2018, was held at the Cradle of Aviation in Garden City, a wonderfully appropriate venue for the event. Opening remarks by Al De Phillips credited the success of Our Lady of the Skies chapel to the strong leadership of its chaplains through the years, and thanked the three who were present, Father James Devine, Father Joe Walker and Father Chris Piazza. The JFK Chamber of Commerce held a luncheon at Russo’s on the Bay on October 10, 2018, featuring Joanna Geraghty, the new President of JetBlue as speaker. Ms. Geraghty opted for a fireside chat format, with James Groark, Cathay Pacific, as interviewer, and later questions were taken from the audience. Kazuki Russo Boy Scouts

Kazuki Russo, just 14 years old was a wonderfully surprising guest speaker at the recent 2018 Aviation Luncheon, sponsored by the Queens Scouting, Boy Scouts of America on September 26, 2018 at the Cradle of Aviation. Kazuki attends the Academy of Film and Television High School in Long Island City and started in the Cub Scouts at school, joined the Pack in the neighborhood, and eventually “crossed over” to the Troop. On April 17th, a select group of media professionals donned TWA hardhats and toured the iconic Saarinen terminal at JFK led by Tyler Morse, CEO MCR and driving force behind the terminal restoration and the TWA Hotel project. On the tour Mr. Morse pointed out the innumerable details that made this building so unusual and outstanding. Despite temperatures in the 30 to 40-degree range, heavy winds and the threat of rain, almost 1200 participants completed the 5K runway run, also known as the Bud Heaning memorial run on Sunday morning, April15th. John Selden, Deputy General Manger JFK International Airport, and runner, commented that it would have been closer to 2,000 if the sun were shining.
