PLAY CEO and Flight Crew

PLAY, a low-cost airline operating flights between the United States and Europe, today expands its U.S. service with convenient and affordable flights from Boston Logan International Airport (BOS). After beginning service at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) in April, this inaugural flight from the Northeast marks the second phase of PLAY’s U.S. growth. Flights from Boston will reach 22 European destinations via Iceland, and the airline’s service growth will continue with flights from New York Stewart International Airport (SWF), and Orlando International Airport (MCO) beginning in the coming months.

PLAY’s expansion is timed during a year of expected growth within the travel industry, giving passengers 95 percent on-time reliability and the option to build their own price. By enabling travelers to choose the upgrades they need, from seats with extra legroom to checked bags and in-flight meals, PLAY keeps costs low so travelers can make the most out of their trip. Tickets are on sale now at flyplay.com for flights from Boston to destinations including Iceland, London, Dublin, Paris, Berlin, Copenhagen, Brussels, Trondheim, Gothenburg, and more. For its first takeoff from Boston, PLAY will host a party and ceremony at the gate, with PLAY CEO Birgir Jónsson and local officials in attendance to welcome the first travelers as they board at 6 p.m. ET.

PLAY CEO Birgir Jónsson commented: “Around the world, tourists and vacationers are fueling an international travel comeback. As they return to the skies to reach bucket-list destinations and hidden gems across Europe, PLAY offers convenient flights from key cities in the United States. Expanding our flights from Boston today will support travelers in the local market and surrounding cities, enabling them to pay less for their flights and more on the fun activities and excursions that make the trip memorable. As we continue to grow our presence in the U.S., we look forward to providing travelers with a no-frills approach to travel, where they can expect reliable yet affordable service from PLAY.”

To celebrate the start of service, PLAY opened a flash deal of flights starting at $99 to Iceland and $129 to Paris, Dublin, and Copenhagen from Boston Logan International Airport between September 4 and November 13, 2022 and September 7 and November 16, 2022. The flash deal is valid through May 12, 2022 until midnight eastern time. Discounted prices are inclusive of all mandatory taxes, fees and carrier charges. Restrictions and baggage fees apply.
