JetBlue announced the appointment of Edward Kayton to Head of Talent and Crewmember Experience, effective September 28, 2021. Singapore Airlines has announced the restoration of flights from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport to Frankfurt, with continuing service to Singapore, starting on November 2, 2021. The move follows the Biden Administration’s recent relaxation of travel restrictions between the United States and Europe. In addition, SIA will resume nonstop flights from San Francisco International Airport to Hong Kong, also with continuing service to Singapore, commencing on November 2. The JFK Airport Chamber of Commerce held its annual Golf Outing at the Brookville Country Club. The event brought together the airport community to enjoy the course and the camaraderie. After enjoying the sunny day, everyone got together to take in an abundant cocktail hour and dinner while catching up with friends and colleagues who hadn’t been together for quite a while. Joseph A. Alba passed away on Saturday, August 14, 2021, at St. Augustine Flagler Hospital in St. Augustine, Florida. He was 82 years old. Son of the late Salvatore Alba & Angela Caravana Alba, Joseph was born on November 6, 1938, in Brooklyn. After publishing “Reclaiming the Sky,” a story of the courage of aviation workers on 9/11, Fordham University invited Tom to create the Human Resiliency Institute to develop resiliency training programs that reflect the healing principles of the 9/11 heroes profiled in his book. Edge4Vets is the lead program for the institute, which is housed in the Gabelli School of Business. The 20th anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks are being commemorated. There will be memorial services and acts of remembrance all throughout the country and the world. One such act of resilience started on August 21st.
