Air Canada announced the retirement of Lucie Guillemette, Executive Vice President, and Chief Commercial Officer. Ms. Guillemette, responsible for the airline’s commercial strategies, will retire at the end of April 2023, ending a highly successful career touching five decades at Canada’s flag carrier. Air Canada also announced today a realigned senior management structure taking effect with Ms. Guillemette’s departure. Mark Nasr, Senior Vice President, Products, Marketing, and eCommerce, will become Executive Vice President of Marketing and Digital and President of Aeroplan. At heyworld GmbH, a subsidiary of Lufthansa Cargo for eCommerce transport solutions, there will be personnel changes on the management level. As of February 1, 2023, Boris Hueske and Nikola Todic will take over the company’s management as joint Managing Directors. The Fiscal Year (FY) 2023 Omnibus Appropriations Bill signed by President Biden includes funding to bring TSA employee compensation to a level commensurate with other federal agencies. It also supports funding to expand collective bargaining rights for screening the workforce. After years of advocating for fair pay for TSA employees, the provision allows the agency to bring pay rates in alignment with other federal agencies, effective July 1, 2023. The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ) has named Gregory W. Ehrie, its chief security officer. Before joining the PANYNJ, Ehrie spent more than 20 years in the FBI, including stints as Special Agent in Charge of Intelligence at the New York field office and as Special Agent in Charge of its field office in Newark, N.J. Condor Airlines, Germany’s most popular leisure airline, has moved its operations at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) from Terminal One (T1) to its new home in Terminal 7, effective as of January 5th. Condor will join its partner carrier, Alaska Airlines, in T7.
