JetBlue Airways has joined Southwest Airlines in adding Telluride in Colorado to its route map this winter as US carriers continue to seek out new seasonal leisure routes. The New York-based airline plans to serve Montrose Regional Airport (MTJ) from three of its focus cities beginning Dec. 19. MTJ is about 90 mins. north of Telluride, a popular ski destination. LaGuardia Gateway Partners (LGP) announced today that a state-of-the-art water feature is now operational in the brand new Arrivals and Departures Hall at LaGuardia Airport’s Terminal B. LGP is the private entity managing and redeveloping the new terminal. The Arrivals and Departures Hall opened earlier this year, marking yet another milestone in the overall redevelopment project. The water feature, which is the centerpiece of Level 4 of the Hall, is a system that was developed by French company Aquatique Show. NY Airport Mask Rule

Travelers at New York-area airports who refuse to don a mask will be subject to a $50 fine, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey announced. The list of airports includes John F. Kennedy International, LaGuardia, and Newark Liberty International. Travelers without masks on the airports’ AirTrains as well as on NJ Path commuter trains will also be subject to fines if not wearing face masks. U.S. Customs and Border Protection expands fleet with two more Special Mission Beechcraft King Air 350CER

Textron Aviation was awarded a contract for two additional Beechcraft King Air 350-CPR turboprop aircraft for the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Air and Marine Operations (AMO). After mission modifications by Sierra Nevada Corporation, these two Multi-role Enforcement Aircraft (MEA) aircraft will join a fleet of 23 other King Air 350 aircraft used to safeguard the United States homeland as part of the coordinated application of CBP’s aviation and maritime law enforcement resources. JetBlue Airways has re-announced a new start date for its new non-stop service to Georgetown, Guyana, which was originally planned to start on April 2, 2020. The airline will begin to offer service between JFK International Airport and Cheddi Jagan International Airport starting December 11, 2020. UPS pilots face Covid-19 challenge as several quarantined in foreign countries

More than 100 pilots have contracted COVID since the start of the pandemic and between 30 and 70 are in quarantine at any given time, Brian Gaudet, spokesman for the Independent Pilots Association said.
